Northern Lights is one of the most popular indie nights in the North West of England.

It started life in the Lux Club, a tiny basement bar in August 2003. In September 2004 it moved to the larger Waiting Room at the other side of town before settling at its current home, Club Nirvana (formerly Princes Cinema) in May 2005.

The night is run by Lupine Promotions and currently attracts more than 500 people every Friday night.

The music policy is a mixture of indie, rock & roll and northern soul, from old classics to new cutting edge tracks.

Resident DJs are Dylan Harris, Sean Doherty, John Togher and Joey Ellis who between them spin the decks in the 3 seperate rooms.
